There's something about what's going on in the world that triggers something more visceral in me. I feel more afraid, angry, tribal. I am absolutely terrified of how I see everyone responding. It's not really what they say as much as the frames they use to say it.

Repenting for white sins, white fragility indicating submission/dominance heirarchy, a lot of this being oriented around social status and power and retribution instead of actually getting concrete results

Totally agree that there is a lot of language used that implicitly matches Calvinist ideas: total depravity, original sin, covenant, sola scriptura etc. and a similar emotional tenor

Those sorts of absolutes don't solve anything when trying to prove a point. But that being said, it hurts and scares because you're getting hit with it full force with the weight of 100's of years trauma. It is going to take time to process and find your lane in all of this.

If you're asking questions and trying to figure it out and help, that's amazing. Anyone who calls to you a racist and isn't willing to take the time to help understand where that sentiment comes from isn't actually making progress towards their goal.

If you're going out of your way to find the people who never got the memo that the Berlin Wall fell in 1989, then you're doing that to yourself. Or your friends are, probably. I have seen more people blandly explaining the costs of policing and racism in dry, Excel-sheet terms.
