I'd be way more sympathetic to the protesters if instead of shouting stupid shit (stream i'm watching they were chanting 'suck my dick') they were demanding concrete changes, like had a list of achievable demands that could be measurably met (opposed to e.g. 'be sorrier').

A few commentors linked the naacp's list of demands, which I hadn't seen. As far as this represents the protests, this is concrete and absolutely qualifies for what I wanted in my original tweet.

WHAT DO WE WANT?!
Police unions dismantled, an end to qualified immunity, an end to the 1033 program...
*gasp*
an end to the Drug War, no more tear gas used against peaceful protestors...
*gasp*
and police forces relegated exclusively to SWAT duty!
WHEN DO WE WANT IT? Now!

Protests in Hong Kong vs protests in US. One of them will still be going in a few weeks, and possibly cause policy change...

yes if only the mass demonstrators had the sanguine grace to tailor their messaging to you instead of expressing their rage and frustration at police murder however they pleased in the moment
