I don’t think it makes it any more/or less acceptable (if that’s even applicable). Nobody else’s opinion really counts. It’s just an unusual motivation that people wouldn’t necessarily assume without knowing you. I’m not sure financial insecurity is in the same bracket though..

‘Normal’ insecurity would revolve around seeing yourself, or imagining others will see you, as lesser or not worthy in some way. A reduction in confidence is combined.. Whereas ‘financial insecurity’.. whilst it can contain normal insecurity, it doesn’t have to

I think maybe my phrasing sounded harsher/judgier than it was meant to. A lot of what humans say is meant to assuage insecurities indirectly, so as to not put it out in the open. That's what i was trying to get at. Nothing wrong with wanting to look prettier, or make more money.
