Starting conditions. Even if literally no one had any bias that doesn't mean that a member of a group that's higher percentage poor would be able to compete at the same level as a group where more of them are born wealthy.

not sure about the general case, but there are obvious edge cases where you wouldn’t have equivalent percentages with general population, e.g. group of people interested in/who talk about afro-textured vs non-afro-textured hair, support groups for specific genetic diseases

altho i guess if there were *no* racism, the population might tend to homogenize into one race eventually?
