this is one thing i do like about the christian homeschoolers; growing up, we were taught that teenagehood was a social myth, that there was no special rebellious time, that we were simply a child being slightly more like an adult every day.

Same here! None of my homeschooled siblings went through a rebellious stage either (n = 4 and counting). The idea that it’s an inevitability is a total myth.
