"Hey I need a covid test before surgery, how much is it?"
"Don't worry, insurance will cover it"
"Oh no, I have , they said they wouldn't"
"Oh god Kaiser, yeah you're screwed. That'll be $190 please"
Now I've got -$190, a neg covid result, and a hunt for new insurance

This is just the final straw. There've been several other times where I tried to get something done and the people were like "Yeah any of these other insurances will work.... but Kaiser won't cover this."
This is a shame cause I liked my Kaiser doctor a lot.

I'm getting tested as part of a requirement to test negative before getting a surgery, not because I'm showing symptoms, and the surgery isn't medically necessary.
My take on Kaiser is that if it works for you it is great, some people I know are very brand-loyal and love their coverage. I also know MANY people who have bad Kaiser experiences, but that is no different that most providers.

... Well you did choose the place that sounds like a villain. One way of looking at the name literally is "Eternal Leader". That would be amusing, if medical insurance wasn't already nothing to smile about.

Haha almost 200 dollars for a test, letting private corporations run the healthcare system was a mistake.
