Woke up to a lot of hate for saying sketchy" & people interpreting it as racist slander when *specifically it was about all the needles I've seen in the SF streets. In the US does "sketchy" have racist connotations? Am I missing smtg? I also call my hometown sketchy...bc it is.

moved to the Bay area just weeks before quarantine; can't meet new people, team was already remote, tech mindspace lives on twitter, SF streets be sketchy, rent is ridiculous, I still use straws. Why am I even here? 🙄

I got called a creep and blocked by a few people for saying that an exercise was "cheeky". To me that's and expression of admiration for an excercise that's challenging, I'm still not sure what the connotation that got me in trouble was 🤷‍♂️ we can't understand everything I guess
