i grew up hearing about the huguenot persecution and how we were descended from them and my mom also wore the cross for as long as i can remember. i know this isn't relevant im just so excited someone out in the wild mentioned the hugeunots

ok nevermind i just started talking to my mom about it and TURNS OUT we do not have huguenot ancestors, she just got a huguenot necklace from one of her older french relatives and was really into the huguenots herself and my child brain misremembered this.
