I mean technically, you're still in a monogamous relationship, just not a healthy one. Kinda of like saying, "Yeah I have a roommate living at my place up in the hills," but it's a cellmate in prison. lol

If you cheat in a relationship, the lesson if that monogamy isn't for you. Not that monogamy is bad. If I skip going to work all the time to just watch TV or sleep, then that means I should look for a different job that I enjoy. Not that the concept of jobs is wrong.
