I ask a lot of questions but don't go into my beliefs too often. Here's a summary of my positions on some controversial things: * worker's unions are probably bad * body dysphoria is real and trans people should be able to transition as treatment *stereotypes are based on truth

* minimum wage is probably bad * corporate influence of the legal system is absolutely horrible * democracy is probably not ideal * requiring other people use your preferred pronouns is a violation of boundaries * trying to use people's preferred pronouns is good 2/

* we should be more sympathetic to cheaters * building permits/zoning are probably bad * taxes are BAD, but I probably support "revenue through collective good punishment" like heavy fines for environmental pollution * experiencing (not acting on) attraction to children is fine

I suspect a lot of the problems we have are *caused* by a lot of regulations; if we remove those, society will work itself out and to some extent those issues will resolve themselves (e.g., welfare, healthcare). National defense is maybe the one exception.

Like I said in the og thread, I do support the use of revenue taken from people who cause 'generalized' harm (e.g., polluting a water supply, spreading an illness). I *possibly* would support the minimal possible tax for use for defense, if the first option isn't enough.
