I ask a lot of questions but don't go into my beliefs too often. Here's a summary of my positions on some controversial things: * worker's unions are probably bad * body dysphoria is real and trans people should be able to transition as treatment *stereotypes are based on truth
Doesn't that imply that the wealthy have an obligation to care for the poor? Like, I agree that this is a good norm and we should support and reward people who do this - but to view this as an obligation is one step too far for me.

as in, it opens up a whole other can of worms if you say "someone with the means to help is obligated to help." We can generalize that a little too uncomfortably.
