Strong agree. while this is definitely a balance - to some extent you really do have to just buy into what someone believes in order understand what it's like to be them - people are still wrong

I understand why "Don't question people's lived experience" is a good social norm, but it runs into the problem that people are reliably incredibly wrong about their lived experience literally all the time.
