You shouldn't be set on only dating other (post-)rationalists / intellectuals.
Why: that's a very small group of people and expanding the net further will allow you to meet very different people that could help you to grow.

the people who've helped me grow the most are post-rats and various intellectuals in that sphere. I've met a lot of people who aren't that and I know what I want.

This of course is culture specific: European welfare state Centrism usually has both of your example opinions. Almost every strong welfare state there has significant barriers to immigration.

The hidden assumption is that in those societies the social rather than economic incentives to work are what moves most people.
I think it is a flawed socio-political model overall.

Oh ya, I want people to come here and work. Abolish welfare. Get rid of big govt keeping out the competition. Get rid of big govt. the right doesn’t see immigration as big govt.

But I’m also for having a strong border. Not for the war on drugs though.
