Studies have shown psychedelics can rewire the brain for the better. There's been a few with PTSD patients showing positive results. So maybe better than psychological help. The drugs prescribed are sometimes not the best option.

LSD revealed to me how irrational selfharm is. It felt like I woke up into myself, and I was horrified with what I found. I realized that I'm not the hateful thoughts in my head: I'm the body that experiences the painful repercussions of toxic rumination.
10/10 would trip again

LSD has therapeutic uses
It is just there are too many have negative experiences and/or permanent damage to be considered ethical in a clinical setting

I appreciate the good result, but I don't think most cases would have that conclusion. Then again, I'm no mental health specialist.
