I've picked up regularly practicing an instrument again, and the sensation of learning a song and putting it into muscle memory is so bizarre. I can feel my fingers learning how to move and it feels like they're doing it on their own, like I'm just watching it happen.

that’s awesome. muscle memory is cool too. i quit piano in third grade and it’s been well over ten years since I’ve practiced, but every year when I return to my parent’s home, I can play every note of franz liszt’s liebestraum, the last song I ever learned.

I can hardly sight read anymore, and if I try to learn another song I’m a total beginner. but if you want to hear liebestraum my hands will do it and they will do it well
