Money isn't real. It's a social construct. Some people hate it, and live without it. Some people are traumatized by it. Some people want to burn it all. Some people love it, especially when they have a lot of it. It still has a lot of power, even though it's not real and hated.1/

Why is money less real than a table?

As for me, it was not your use of the word “real” that I criticized, but theirs, where “they” are the people you were quoting. I think the people who are insisting “money isn't real, it's a social construct” are trying to pull the fallacy…

… where they say “foo is bar, bar is qux, therefore foo is qux” and use a different meaning of “bar” in each premise.

It’s impossible to discuss complicated concepts on here with people who are only interested in proving you wrong. The 280 character limit doesn’t lend itself to complicated explanations, so you have to work with people to understand what they mean, but that’s no fun!

I sometimes use "kickable"/"pokable" to mean "real" in this way; as in "I can go kick/poke the thing. With my foot/finger."
