Women having no body hair is a weird 90s things. I remember it used to be completely normal for a woman to lift her arm up, and there be hair in her armpit. I mean why wouldn't there be?

Pre-internet, when I was young, shaving was considered kinky, people talked about it in a scandalous way when I was in college. In the mid to late 90s it became very common. Women I knew complained it was required for dating. Now it is going back, some hair is much more common
