I see some opposition to transhumanism here.

Transhumanism? I’m not certain if you’re using the word in an incorrect context or if my definition is incorrect. Isn’t transhumanism about merging with cybernetics?

No kids, but my kids would have been only marginally attractive. They would have an easier life if they were beautiful. Normal mate selection does this anyway, breeding for beauty and intelligence.

My assumption is you mean modifying genetics through external technology. This of course calls into question various questions about asymmetric access and it’s moral implications. What’s more interesting to me though is where you draw the line between this and natural selection?

We pretty much don't adhere to natural selection as it is. We take care our weak and ill, we don't let them die out. This gene therapy would just be an extension of that, while providing a means to mitigate the genetic consequences of breaking away from natural selection.

I think the best practical arguments are like, a Red Queen Race argument, and there's also a homogenization/biodiversity argument against, eg like with the monocropped banana that all died out to the plague humanity might end up non-diverse and vulnerable to a shock like that.

Have you taken into account that these polls are meaningless if they can't into account equitable male and female sample sizes?

Obviously there are other issues with drawing conclusions from a poll on Twitter, but why does it matter that the numbers of males and females are equitable as long as both are sufficiently large?
