If autism--schizophrenia is a brain spectrum, and psychedelics push your brain in the schizophrenia direction, does that mean autists have a "better" or more normalizing effects from taking them?

So they're saying autism is extreme bottom-up information processing and schizophrenia is extreme top-down processing. So in that sense, they are on the same spectrum. But as for the medical cause of each disorder, they are not on opposite sides of the same spectrum.

Thats definitely an interesting take, but it seems to me to problematically simplify and reify the psychiatric diagnostic constructs. Both SZ and ASD are way too multivariate to place on a single axis like that. But there are features of each that can be viewed that way, for sure
