If autism--schizophrenia is a brain spectrum, and psychedelics push your brain in the schizophrenia direction, does that mean autists have a "better" or more normalizing effects from taking them?
I don't have any good data sets. Anecdotally it seems like autistic people report reduced effects from LSD, at least outwardly. I am likely closer to the 'autism' side of the spectrum and handled serious regular use of LSD without going insane. I always wonder if it's related.
I think it's probably more about having a robust scientific worldview and your expectations of the experience than anything else. My suspicion is that people who report the most outlandish effects of psychedelics (talking to God, being transported to another dimension, etc.)...
There’s a lot to explore about why this may be so. You can join us on the 3rd of May when we talk to researcher Dr Katrin Preller about some of these ideas :)

By "pushing brain into scitzophrenia spectrum" via *acute* 5ht2a agonism, the brain autocorrects by downregulating those receptors. THAT is the curative mechanism!
Myself and my partner are highly functional autists and 5g of psilocybin gave a 🌈 sheen to everything, at most
