The whole idea that political ideologies have canonical context-independent "opposites" is dubious. Political philosophy is for solving concrete political problems, and specific features of these problems allow us to creatively and continually reinterpret our ideas.

Within the Overton window, sure. I think some people will interpret the opposite of their political views to mean some insane "evil is good, slavery is freedom" ideas that no one could believe with good intentions.

A lot of the nicest, kindest people I have ever met have held political beliefs I find abhorrent (and we were/are friends even tho we know our differing beliefs) & some of the most horrid, evil, nasty people to those stuck near them IRL have held/proclaimed saintly beliefs so...

Absolutely can be good people. I have several great friends I debate with almost daily that are on the opposite end of the political spectrum but I'd buy them a beer any day of the week.

This question is slightly stacked against liberals by specifically choosing "kind" over "good" or something more generically virtuous. Conservatives don't classically dislike liberals for being "unkind", they dislike them for being lazy, entitled, or depraved.
