Over the last year or so I've felt increasingly sensitive to the way asian men are portrayed in TV and movies - often desexualized, feminine, and the butt of jokes. It's kind of upsetting.
I'd say the US situation has somewhat improved recently, but in general, people should just read subtitles and watch Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, etc. stuff, plenty of great movies there.
I was offended by how few roles were available for White men and women in Asian cinema, but then I realized I had no right to tell Asians whom to cast in their movies.
