Yeah, maybe we're using different definitions? My understanding of eugenics is it's stuff around intentionally changing the genes of people who are born, whether by actually changing the genes, selective abortion, sterilization, etc.

That's what some people might call "New Eugenics" if you mean direct genetic engineering. The actual definition of eugenics is so broad and debated that nobody really knows what someone means when they say it.
