I was just trying to cover my bases after people in my mentions on other polls were being nitpicky. I agree autism is something you're born with. I would not be surprised if environmental factors played into the strength of symptoms in certain cases.

I'm not going to vote, because this is not just a fun thought experiment to me; I'll just say that things have never, ever gone well when people start trying to decide what kinds of people shouldn't exist.

I think I generally agree, but how do you feel about extremes? Like, if you could genetically engineer humanity so nobody ever had a cluster headache ever again, would you?

i don't know why anyone would choose no, tbh. it's a very tough, isolating, sometimes crippling thing to have. why wouldn't you want to prevent someone from going through that?

People responding to this poll have no idea of the vast contribution that has been made by autistic people in math, science and engineering. If autistic people were never born again society would lose arguably its most high-risk/high-reward demographic. Don't fuck with nature.
