It’s a symptom of our post-war “nuclear peace privilege”, where we have pivoted culture and media to sanctify individuality and (facile) notions of equality. Because of that, all individual traits are beautified.

idk? I grew up definitely in that category - I am not very feminine at all, and have some *strong* preferences that extremely disalign with what society expected of me (cooking for my husband), but I don't think I ever experienced gender dysphoria.

I have a little one who seems to be growing out of it (10-years old). I wouldn’t change her while at the same time worry about the challenges she may face.
