Sometimes i think I'd love a revolution to overthrow the government, but then I remember the actually competent people I'd trust to run a country are probably not going to be the ones leading the revolution.

As long as they're willing to protect the week I dont care. Tired of people complicit with rapists. The problem is that people who seek out power usually have reasons for doing so. Like being rapists.

By government do you mean the 1% electable part and their immediate appointees, or the thousands of “regional assistant deputy director - Department of Transportation” types that actually govern the country?

Many people in government are pedants. Pedants aren't actually bad; they get the job done, which is what government workers are supposed to do. Intellectuals (or self-professed intellectuals like us) often lack foresight when calling for intellectuals to pursue pedantic jobs.
