There's strong correlation between poverty and obesity. I understand "unhealthy, faster food is cheaper", but how encompassing is that explanation? Are there any other cultural factors here?

There’s also a strong correlation between poverty and impulse control / short-term gratification. The marshmallow test doesn’t lie.

Primary cause is lack of critical thinking due to lack of education. Then falling victim to the lies of food companies. “Breakfast of champions” grains and sugar. Obscene abuse of people for profit.

Lack of time and funds to join a gym, working multiple jobs leaving little time for healthy living of any kind. High stress pushing people towards comfort foods. Food deserts.

Being poor feels bad. Eating junk food feels good.
If you’re well-off then you have the means to find othee (less unhealthy) ways to feel good.
