Yeah this is the only good answer in the thread. Money is a system of measurement - it measures scarcity, in the economic sense. Doing away with money, or changing it to gold or crypto, does nothing to change the underlying problem: people want more goods than are available.

Money is, at root, a store of value. Prices signal relative values. No matter what medium of exchange is used (shells, crypto, cash), these things are true.

Hmm I like this, must've been a hell of a trip. For money being a word, it the universal language, no? If you travel to another country and don't speak the language, money will speak it for you. And as far as power means the ability to get things done, money manifests that

I've also tripped and realized that money has the ability to do work, almost like fuel. It's more than the sum of its parts. If you give me a few million of it, the rest of my life change dramatically. Rather than reduce it to basics, I see its downright magical properties.
