Dude the online trans crowd is the most uncharitable, cruel group I've ever encountered. Had to block a hundred people calling me a piece of shit this morning.

What's gained from it is a feeling of intimacy, openness, and honesty. I really value communities where people can be open about parts of themselves that are sometimes painful for others; it feels really beautiful and connective.

Yes that can be awesome. But this level of openness very much varies.. again most people suffer with incredible dysphoria. For a non binary person like me, it doesn't bother me. Others, it could trigger massive dysphoria. I'm glad you don't say it for that reason.

It's "weird" only because it's different from your experience of gender. Your gender aligns with your sex (or maybe I'm assuming too much- if so tell me), so all is well and "normal". Othering trans people like this is the mindset that people are calling you out for.
-
I don't have an experience of gender. My gender lies in the perceptions of the people around me. But yeah, it's a weird experience. and that's ok - I'm not judging myself for that. I'm also not judging trans people for feeling pain because i feel weird.
