Yeah, I agree that the way my brain processes gender is not like... forgiving. Most trans people don't have the ability to pass, espec. if they transitioned late or don't have money. I agree it can be extraordinarily painful to not look like the thing you want to.

I acknowledge that my instinctive processing of trans people as their birth gender is probably really painful to them. I feel empathy for this and if I could press a button to change my brain to process them as the gender they want, then I would do that.

One (weak) reason I think there is something not totally straightforward going on on your end, is that you didn’t put “and I would change this about myself if I could” as a top level tweet.
