Dude the online trans crowd is the most uncharitable, cruel group I've ever encountered. Had to block a hundred people calling me a piece of shit this morning.
ok I think the thing about genderpeople that *actually* bothers me is that I feel not allowed to use my own gender framework around them. I honestly don't give a shit how they present, how deviant from gender norms they are, whether they wear makeup or a boy cut. (1/6)
I'm not sure what makes you think any trans person would be happy to read this. Just because you are politely rejecting one of the most important aspects of who they are, doesn't make it more acceptable when you do it.
When there is a large segment of society that is determined to destroy their own personal feelings about their own gender, then it has an awful lot to do with how they feel about themselves. Societal rejection is the #1 contributor to mental health issues among trans people.
I understand that she's being honest. That doesn't make her views inherently good. People who say that they feel gay marriage is an abomination are also just being honest. This might be a good time for some self-reflection.
No - people saying the thought of gay marriage makes them feel gross and afraid, are being honest. Calling it an abomination is closer to idk, projecting? Storytelling?
I feel like this is splitting hairs, but sure, fine. I don't want to change the focus here.
The point is that expressing your personal views can be very hurtful to people, and sometimes they are right to be hurt by you expressing your views.
