Dude the online trans crowd is the most uncharitable, cruel group I've ever encountered. Had to block a hundred people calling me a piece of shit this morning.

SJW’s can be so vicious and shitty. In this particular conversation though, Zeph isn’t strawmanning too terribly hard. Seems like an only slightly-characterized version of this tweet: 1/

“In my ideal world, they would say "Hey, my pronouns are they/them", and then I'd say "Nice to meet you! I process your gender as your birth sex and don't view you as nonbinary personally, but I'm happy to use your pronouns if that makes you more comfortable."” 2/

I was taken aback when I saw that tweet. It’s weird that upon meeting a nonbinary person you feel the need to immediately let them know that you “process [their] gender as [their] birth sex and don't view [them] as nonbinary personally” 3/

Well I think the reason for letting them know sooner is they're asking me to use specific pronouns with them, which immediately encroaches across my boundary, which is why that triggers my response. If it didn't happen I don't think I'd ever feel the desire to speak up.
