Right, and that's what gets me. I'm like, 90% on their side and loudly advocate things like trans rights and using their preferred pronouns. But none of that matters if you disagree with them anywhere else.
I disagree.
I routinely defend trans people from a more conservative stance, but disagree with left activists on sports participation, dating preferences, and 'self ID.'
I only rarely get mild flak. The people who pour venom on me are the anti-trans feminist and IDW crowd.

When a group is ideologically captured, they lose context sensitivity. Tale as old as time; the more intense the ideology, the more fractious it naturally becomes.
Back when public shaming was less prevalent, this type of behavior was made fun of often

Anyone who is 90% on the side of trans people and loudly advocates for trans rights would not say something like "I process your gender as your birth sex" to anyone, nor wistfully tweet about how such cruelty would be her ideal world.

That's the problem. People who want to dictate your speech have ulterior motives.
Give them an inch, and they *will* take a mile.
I know it's wrong, but I see the behaviour of these lunatics and can't help but tar them all with the same brush. Same with people on the left nowadays. Twitter just displays the bad behaviour so much, it's ended up changing my whole attitude towards them.
