I only get the "you're demanding free labor" argument when I try to ask questions of very left-leaning communities. Right-leaning communities are super happy to tell me everything for free. Left wing communities tell me I'm exploiting them when i post a link to my surveys.

no, like half the time I get it from people who have no idea who i am/it's their first encounter with me. It's happened before on platforms where I have an entirely different username and no connection to anything.
