Did you or anyone you knew have parents keep your desktop computer dismantled in a closet, and every night you sneakily set it all up, used it to play games/talk to friends, and then dismantle it and return it to the closet before your parents woke up?

Not to me actually, but to one of my best internet friends. My dad was in IT and would just lock down my computer hardcore and i'd fuck with the regedit until it broke enough for me to get into things, but then he secretly installed recording software on my computer

Not quite that, but something similar. There was a hidden keyboard, and a hidden phone cable for the modem

Some of your followers, built their own desktops computers from parts and their parents wouldn't know a power cord from a vga cord.. man the generational divide shows..

I'm not aware of this level of punishment but my best nerd friends and I would be "grounded" from our computers as a punishment, but not to this extent... it'd usually make us more inclined to be irl social/ spend the night at the other's house where computers weren't restricted.

Desktop computers did not exist until after I had moved out of my parents’ home.
