Odd question, but given that you have a connection to the sex work grapevine, where would you say is the best and safest place to pick at the minds of escorts somewhat?
As one with no desire to be a client at my stage in life, I don't know how honest and vocal they would be.

Why are you doing these surveys? What are your intentions with the data? Do you have any form of ethical board approval?

I'm curious! I've been doing surveys on various things for years. I plan to publish an analysis of the data on my blog (or somewhere). I don't know if ethics boards approve of me but I haven't asked them.

Hi Aella. Sex workers are a very overly researched group & research methodologies are now rightly being scrutinised. There is a lot of research & guidance for researchers on this that you might find useful. billreimer.net/fmshaver/resea

Awesome, thank you! It appears this article discusses three issues I'm already very familiar with. I can't do much about sampling issues, but in all data I publish I'm public about the limitations. I'm also an ex-sex worker myself!

It is important to use an emancipatory research model, which you can read a bit more about here. You need to consider if this research benefits sex workers, have SW been involved in the design of the research & does this reinforce stigma?

If it helps at all, I'm self trained (used funds earned through sex work to help have people who work in the field teach me stuff about statistics and data processing) and do not come at all from any large corporation or system. I'm 100% tiny and independent.
