Sometimes it feels surreal that there's so little rape. Men are stronger and hornier and I am so grateful we live in a society where they just constantly go around not raping. Like *half* of all non-human sex is rape, but we managed to get our rape down to a tiny percentage.

I mean... you're right, but it's complex. One of the big ones is that rape has a massive trauma effect upon humans that doesn't seem as pronounced in other animals; to be frank, we likely instinctually despise it because it's so harmful for humans specifically.

Ducks mostly reproduce non-consensually, and I'm willing to bet that it doesn't traumatize them on the same level because they're dipshit birds who don't think too much. So it's good that humans don't condone rape, but it's not super comparable between humans and other animals.

I actually am unsure about this; I strongly suspect that the trauma from rape comes from the culture around it, and is about as inherently traumatic as it is for animals if you take away the culture.
