Lack of empathy as a general cultural norm is pretty common throughout history. Strength, sex drive, plus lack of empathy, yeah ofc you'd get rape. I mean just look at how much rape happened with invading armies that had no empathy for the conquered populace.

I think what you're referring to is a very specific circumstance when group psychology takes an evil bent, not something that is lurking in the hearts or minds of almost any individual man waiting to come out. And comparing our sexuality to other animals is simply nonsensical

I don't think it's that simple? I don't mean there's a demon inside men, just that culture is hugely powerful and has installed "don't hurt any women" in our heads so deep, we identity with it. And I'm thankful! But culture is not absolute, ofc.

Sure, I agree that culture is important to protecting the most vulnerable, and how human beings organize themselves play a factor in the protection of women. I just don't see any society where there's an off the charts rape percentage due to their negative cultural values
