Sometimes it feels surreal that there's so little rape. Men are stronger and hornier and I am so grateful we live in a society where they just constantly go around not raping. Like *half* of all non-human sex is rape, but we managed to get our rape down to a tiny percentage.

yeah, i think this is what i mean. I know the thing standing between me and getting raped is like some sort of general cultural agreement and that's super surreal.

As humans begin to have more and more of their basic needs met and lives with less uncertainty. Humans naturally tend to broaden their circle of empathy. More value is placed on human life and dignity. More freedom and cooperation, naturally tampers down our worst natures.

It's actually hopeful as fuck. Social agreement is just the incentives for each individual. We made it unprofitable (in the holistic, life quality sense) to hurt others. Even modeling humans is completely selfish, things can continue to get better for everyone.
