Without looking it up, can you properly thread a sewing machine (including bobbin)?

Literally had this problem last night. My daughter is so bored that I suggested she try to use the sewing machine her mom gave her. I was no help.

My mom used to do it when IW as a kid...so I might be able to work it out with enough time and trial and error...but certainly not a definite.

The answer is no, but I think at one time I knew how to do it. The bobbin is the reel that sits on top, right? All my sewing machine knowledge refers to vintage Singers like this, for some reason we had more than one:
