Lefties hate the New Deal because it made workers feel that American capitalism was adequate, forestalling the threat of revolution or at least the kind of heavily confrontational union vs business relations that characterized postwar Europe.

Of course, this is arguably something that made the New Deal extra great.

Bad take, imo. The New Deal had mixed short term impact but massively beneficial long term and very long term impact. What was wrong in it mostly nullified the effect of other provisions in it that were supposed to aid the recovery.

Most of the New Deal arguments have wildly different goal posts, making resolution impossible. E.g. The New Deal was Bad because it taught people their problems would be solved through the mighty intervention of the government. It was Good because the government sponsored art.

New Deal was horrible! Fed gov't intruded into State & private authorities in a massive & gross abuse of power. Zaniness ex: destroying Agri products ("too much supply is hurting prices!") whilst poor unemployed city-dwellers couldn't afford food. Also saddled us SocSec Ponzi.

Beginning of rule by "Brain Trust". With FDR it was professors at Columbia and now it is rule by Harvard et al. Can't disagree because they are experts.
