I'm open to repressed memories of childhood sexual trauma being a thing, but I'm genuinely curious how they know the memories aren't dreams. I've had lots of childhood memories I thought definitely happened but turned out to probably have come from dreams.

Yeah, if it were like, facts you couldn't have known otherwise. Unfortunately I suspect most childhood abuse takes place in familiar surroundings which would make that hard to tell.

Im not sure how it works. But I’ve asked someone close to me to answer the question, who had memories since the abuse as a child, but also repressed ones that surfaced later in life. Will update soon

I am genuinely open and curious here, and also was molested as a child so I sorta am offended that they're assuming I can't ask these questions. It seems plausible that people abused at a very young age would have a strange relationship to it; I'm asking *how* people know.
Maybe some don’t know for sure. If it happened at like 3 y/o maybe all sone people have is a repulsionir fear and they don’t even know why. I don’t understand why it’s a question in cases where kids are too young to remember. Although I believe the difference between
