I have a little shame around this, but I use shopping as emotional comfort. Like eating junk food, it's unhealthy in excess, but I've recently been redirecting myself into the 'granola' of shopping - cheap jewelry. Jewelry is small, so no storage problems, and a wide variety!

A lot of what draws me to shopping is the experience of browsing things and making a selection, and using the selected objects as sort of peacock display. Jewelry fits this perfectly with far fewer downsides than regular clothes shopping.
