Complicated answer. The top 1% of earners likely paid at least 25% of FIT, but that doesn't account for capital gains taxes, property taxes, or sales taxes collected by their businesses. My guess is that the 1% earners generate more than half of the Fed's yearly tax revenue.

The 1% has lots of regular lawyers/doctors/engineers in there who pay their fair share of taxes. The top 0.1% though. Different rules for capital
