All of my grandparents are long dead (sadly), and I only got something from one of them. My mom's mom left me $5000 (in 2003), which ended up being more than my mom got, because my grandmother had used up almost all her savings.

Yeah. I try not to be but sometimes I wonder how different my life would be like if I knew I would get a lump of financial security when I got older, and that really touches some raw 'yearning' part inside me.
