ok I think the thing about genderpeople that *actually* bothers me is that I feel not allowed to use my own gender framework around them. I honestly don't give a shit how they present, how deviant from gender norms they are, whether they wear makeup or a boy cut. (1/6)

The constant reminder of the contradiction every time you have to use a pronoun does seem oppressive to me (in the, 'weighs your mind down' way, not the political way), in a way that, say, calling someone by their preferred name doesn't.

Sure? I am down to compromise all the time. The difference with this particular one is that I'm afraid of even voicing my preference in the first place - to say "I don't really want to call you by your pronouns but I will if you feel strongly" would cause an uproar in some places
