Occasionally I have realizations about social interactions that are obvious and basic and I'm stunned it took me so long. For example, I just had pre surgery meeting. The lady went down a list of things I can't do - "don't wash your hair for x days" or "don't eat in the morning"-

She couldn't give two sh-ts, so to speak.
-
Eh I dunno, I do consultations frequently as a pharmacist which generally amount to firing off lists and patients saying those kind of things are a good in to make people feel involved in what is otherwise a one way conversation

AL lot of people actually say the thing you almost did, so I'm sure she'd take it in stride because she's used to it. Whenever I'm in the hospital with a relative they do it and I'm always thinking "we're just wasting time here"
-
Except one time personnel didn’t say “the list” they forgot to share the info about weari g sunglasses
after an eye surgery. And do that enough times a business will get sued for post-op damages.

Seeing beyond preconceptions is a constant struggle… no matter the sphere. I find myself chasing my reflection more often than not.

I was really confused until I realized you meant *shampoo*.

No-poo sounds way worse than what I now realise you meant.

Maybe she didn't know what no-poo meant and so wanted to get through the list as soon as possible with no more interjections
