Possibly? This doesn't feel intuitively persuasive to me; it doesn't seem immediately obvious to me how black people would be less money-hungry (money-savvy? financially competitive?) than white people.

I'm open to confounders being an issue here. These theories don't sound immediately convincing but I'm open if we get more data.

It would be interesting to see the results for a group of whites who are equally poor on average as the average black American. Poverty/class can explain a lot of white/black differences.
