In my ideal fantasy, we realize different people have completely different concepts of what gender is, and we use different words to describe the framework we're operating from, instead of fighting each other for ownership over the same terms.

The "different words" thing is really complicated though. The words man and woman are points of conflict right now, but trans people still want words that puts them in the same group as their cis counterparts. New words mean new divisions.

Gender can also serve to organize for social competition. People invested in this aspect aren't incentivized to do what you(and I) want, it limits how aggressively you can use gender to compete.

There are two biological genders and an infinite level of sexuality preferences. Yes, nature has some exceptions to the first rule, but the vast majority breaks down to two biological genders. If you love a man, woman, lamp, anime character, that's how you feel.

Honestly the issue really boils down to what some group of people want to be. If either side is advocating the government should be enforcing certain viewpoints or types of speech, then I have a serious problem. If group A wants to refer to themselves... 1/3

Solipsism, is the bane of current Culture. The world doesn't care. 2 genders/sexes exist to make more of a species...full stop. This is evolutionary efficiency at its finest. Everything else is self-indulgent, self-involved narcissism.
