Puzzling that non-monongamous people are promoting this when lack of monogamy makes sex far less equally distrbuted in the first place. I suspect the reason why monogamy was enforced by Christianity in the first place was to make the distribution of sex equal.

Most widespread non monogamy was done asymmetrically, which of course would make sex access more unequal.

Which is what would happen if you remove taboos against non-monogamy for straight people, which is what non-monogamous people are calling for. Even now the distribution of sex is already becoming more unequal.
